7 places declared sensitive in Rawalpindi for one week

RAWALPINDI: The police, while declaring seven places as sensitive for one week, have enhanced the security measures in Rawalpindi city.A private TV Channel quoted sources as saying that the intelligence agencies in their report to the home ministry Punjab have warned of terrorist activities in the upcoming days in Rawalpindi. Police line, 3 buildings of secret agencies, office of Additional Inspector General and Deputy Inspector General and Traffic Police Headquarters have been declared sensitive for one week. The security arrangements around the sensitive sites and Rawalpindi have been enhanced while vehicles have also been checked strictly to avoid any terrorist activity. It may be recalled here the militants’ commanders in their meeting held some days ago at Mir Ali vowed to avenge the death of their Supreme Commander Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan, Baitullah Mehsud by carrying out suicide attacks throughout the country.—Agencies
